Same thing, two names
IPO allotment status vs IPO allocation status — are they different?
No. "IPO allotment status" and "IPO allocation status" refer to the exact same check — whether the shares you applied for were actually allotted (allocated) to you. Registrars, brokers and financial news sites use the two terms interchangeably, which is why searches for "ipo allocation status" and "ipo allotment status" land on the same registrar pages linked below.
A related but different check is subscription status — how many times an IPO was subscribed overall, before allotment is even finalised — and basis of allotment, the PDF each registrar publishes explaining the exact lottery/proportionate method used to decide who got shares. Both are usually published on the same registrar page as your allotment/allocation result.

Four steps, five minutes
How to check IPO allotment status
-
1
Find your registrar
Check your application acknowledgement or the IPO's prospectus for the registrar's name — usually KFin Technologies, Link Intime, Bigshare, or Cameo. If you're not sure, BSE and NSE carry allotment data for every listed IPO.
-
2
Open the official page
Use the cards above to reach the registrar's real portal. This site never asks you to enter your PAN into a form we control.
-
3
Select the IPO and search
Pick the company name from the dropdown, choose PAN, Application Number or DP/Client ID, complete the captcha, and submit.
-
4
Read the result
You'll see shares applied versus shares allotted. Zero allotted means the amount blocked will be released back to your account, usually within a few working days.
IPO terms, plainly explained
IPO allotment glossary
The terms you'll see on every registrar's allotment (allocation) page, explained in one place.
- Allotment / Allocation
- The number of shares actually credited to you out of the number you applied for. Used interchangeably across registrars, brokers and news coverage.
- Application Number
- The reference number generated when you submitted your IPO bid through your bank (ASBA) or broker/UPI app — printed on your acknowledgement.
- DP / Client ID
- Your Depository Participant ID and Client ID together identify your demat account — an alternative to PAN or application number on most registrar search forms.
- ASBA
- Application Supported by Blocked Amount — your bid amount is blocked (not debited) in your bank account until allotment is finalised.
- Basis of Allotment
- The registrar's published PDF explaining exactly how shares were distributed among applicants — proportionate for large applications, lottery for retail in an oversubscribed issue.
- Oversubscription
- When total bids exceed the shares on offer — e.g. "45x subscribed" means demand was 45 times the available shares, making a lottery-based partial allotment likely for retail investors.
- Listing Date
- The day allotted shares start trading on the exchange — typically a few working days after the allotment/allocation result is published.
- Refund
- For ASBA applications, "refund" just means the blocked amount for un-allotted shares is released back to your account — no separate transfer happens for the allotted portion.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I check my IPO allotment status by PAN?
Open the official site of the registrar handling the IPO (or BSE/NSE), select the IPO name from the dropdown, choose PAN as the search type, enter your PAN number, complete the captcha, and submit. The result shows shares applied versus shares allotted.
Is "IPO allotment status" the same as "IPO allocation status"?
Yes — they're the same check under two common names. Every registrar and exchange page linked on this site answers both.
Can I check IPO allotment status using my DP or Client ID instead of PAN?
Yes, most registrars' search forms let you choose PAN, Application Number, or DP/Client ID as the lookup method — use whichever you have on hand.
Which registrar handled my IPO?
The registrar's name is printed in the Red Herring Prospectus and on your application acknowledgement. You can also check the allotment on the BSE or NSE website with the same PAN or application number if you're unsure which registrar to use.
When is IPO allotment status usually declared?
Allotment is typically finalised within one working day after the IPO closes and appears on the registrar's site the same evening, though weekends and holidays can push it back a day or two.
Does this website store my PAN or application number?
No. This site does not collect, transmit, or store your PAN or application number. It only points you to the official BSE, NSE, or registrar portal, where you enter your details directly on their site.
What if I don't get an allotment?
The blocked amount (ASBA/UPI mandate) is released automatically, typically within a few working days of the allotment being finalised. No action is needed on your part.
Where can I check Nifty and Sensex top gainers and losers today?
This page shows live top gainers and top losers for the Indian market directly in the Market Today section above, powered by TradingView's licensed market-data widgets — no need to leave the page. NSE and BSE also publish the same movers on their own sites if you'd rather see the exchange's own figures.
